So, Delible came off the press yesterday and Insomniac is shipping it out. I’ll see it for the first time when I arrive in Montreal for the launch at Blue Met.
This morning, Bernard Kelly had a smart review in the Gazette:
He engages with why the book is written the way it is (the central ‘mystery,’ Mel’s disappearance, is unresolved and that has pretty profound implications on how the story can be told).
Last night was the launch of George Bowering’s Vermeer’s Light at Spartacus Books. (George writes better than he bowls) And at Spartacus, Margot Butler (the visual artist and cultural critic) and I went through the clothes rack and found this t-shirt:

Had a great time with Margot, and at the event, talked with George Stanley for a while — who’s among my favourite people to run into at bookish events (and places where olives are bathed in gin).
The special issue of West Coast Line is in production now, and has a lot of varied and strong works. We’re into proofing now, and the design (by Blaine Kyllo) looks sharp.
